1. Special windows/programsYou can add special windows or programs to be making transparent as you want. All other windows you have not defined in this list box will be making transparent by using the default transparent settings in the "Other windows" group. So, adding a special program or window to the list will force it to be processed by using the settings in the item. Click "Add" to add a program or a filter for some windows. Click "Remove" to remove the selected items in the list box. Click "Modify" to modify the settings for the selected item. In the "Add/Modify special window or program" dialog box, you can set the transparency value for the window or program, or select "Disable transparent" option to disable transparent with the window or program. The important area is the filter/path: If you specify a path to a program, then all the windows created by the program will be set to be transparent by using the value in this item (or, will disable the transparent if you chose the "Disable transparent" option). if you specify a filter in the input box (of course you should first select the "Filter" option), then any window that matched the filter will be set to transparent by using the value in this item (or be disabled). The filter can be the window's title or the class name of the window. Note the filter supports wildcard, so if you set "*abc*" as the filter, then all windows that contain the string "abc" (either in the title or the class name) will use the settings in this item (case sensitive). There is a "Cross" icon in dialog box that can help you to capture the program path or the class name of any window. Just drag the icon to any window, then release it, then the program path or the class name of the window will be automatically filled in the input box. The different is: when you selected the "Filter" option it will return the class name, or it will return the program path. |
2. Other windowsThere are two options you can choose for all other windows that were not defined in the "Special windows/programs" group. Automatically set to be transparent: All other windows will be set to be transparent by using the transparency value in the "Default transparency value". Keep current state: All other windows will not be set to be transparent. Default transparency value: The transparency value for all other windows that were not defined in the "Special windows/programs" group. |
3. OptionsShow an icon in the system tray bar: This will let the software to add an icon in the system tray bar. You then can right-click at the icon to use the popup menu, or double-click at the icon to restore the Settings window. Note: If you didn't let the software to show an icon in system tray bar, and hided the software, it will be running in background as invisible mode. You can launch the software again to force it to show the settings window again. Automatically start at system booting: This will let the software to be automatically launched each time you booted your computer, so the transparent settings will be automatically applied after system booted. |
4. ButtonsApply Now: Apply the settings to system. Normally you needn't to use this button, only if you clicked "Restore All" button, then you need to use this button to apply the settings to system again. Restore All: Restore all the windows (include the windows defined in the "Special windows/programs" list) to the original state, this is, disable the transparent. After you clicked this button, the transparent will not be applied to the system until you click the "Apply Now" button. Hide: Hide the settings dialog box, the software then will be run in background. NOTE: The software has been designed to don't quit if you click the "Close" icon on the top-right corner of the dialog box, clicking that icon equal to clicking the "Hide" button. Exit: Quit the software. This is the ONLY way to quit the TransWin software. |
